Crypto Predictions for 2019
#1
I was thinking about the direction for crypto during 2019. What do you guys think will happen?

One major impact is AML (anti-money laundering) and CFT (combating the financing of terrorism) that will be forced on every crypto exchange. For us in here it's no problem but for the criminals that need to withdraw fiat it is and it will probably have a huge impact on the market. Decentralized exchanges will be more and more important because of that.

Another major trend is stable coins. Facebook will introduce such a coin and more will come. It will train the average person in how to deal with crypto and hopefully they will jump to "normal" altcoins for trading and payment.

Bitcoin will still be the leading crypto.

Application on top of the blockchain will probably be a focus point during 2019 to really harvest all the true benefits of the blockchain.
Cardano is the most promising 3 gen. crypto right now.

Unfortunately nobody has a cristal ball to look into. So it is hard to make exact predictions.
Probably there will be a new bull run in the near future. BAKKT is going to play an important role in it in as well as regulatory instances all over the world.
We all have to learn from past bull runs and bear runs. Bull runs are always followed by bear runs. It is ours to see when to buy and when to sell.
One things is for sure: crypto needs more adoption, and it will gain more and more adoption. The future is not the creation of new coins and tokens, but the creation of new systems that uses blockchain (or other decentralized) technology such as decentralized exchanges, banking systems, computational systems, etc... Of course for people like us it is hard to forecast whether a project is a hole in the market or not.
Therefor we should find answers on different questions;
- What problem is solved with the new project
- Is the world waiting for this project. If not, could it gain adoption in the near future(will the emergence of it create the need)
- Is the market ready yet for this
- Would even the competitors use this new project (email was a straight competition for all postal services in the world. But can you imagine today a postal company not using email?)
- Is it decentralised
- Is it scalable
- ....

With regard to stable coins; the definition of what is a stable coin is not very clear. If you ask me it should be a coin that is pegged to another currency (crypto or fiat), to preciuos metals or to any other good or tradable good or service. All this to minimize volatility. But if I take a look at some so called stable coins I don't see much of that. If you look at USDT it should be pegged to the US$, but reality shows the value of USDT is not always $1.

Yes BTC is still the leading crypto and I suppose it will stay there for a while because for many it is a store of value. But also this will end one day. Kings die too.
What is this thing that builds our dreams, yet slips away from us?
