There goes the theory of the Belgian priest Georges Lemaître. He was the first who postulated the big bang theory.

Maybe "we" will know who is right one day, but I don't think we will be around to hear about it.

They are for sure the real deal. The question is if their theory is right? Anyway they are on a very interesting path

I think nowadays we are used to our scientists being very traditional - university lecturers, properly funded.  But if you go back a couple of centuries then there were gentlemen scholars scientists, people who were maybe the local Rev/priest/doctor but also found a niche science area that they studied and published in too.  So I do like this idea of being crowdfunded and coming at science from a less common angle than normal now.

However in these days there is a lot of "science" that is just too far out there - maybe youtube etc. For example check out flat earthers and there are hundreds, thousands of people who "believe" in this pseudo science.

Those guys have P.hD's and you name it. They are not nobodies.
The complexity of science have exploded the last 50 years. It's almost impossible to come from a non scientific background and bring something new to the science table.

Flat earth people are just sorry to say stupid. There is many way's to prove they are wrong + just look at the moon at night it's round not flat so most likely the earth is also round. But you know something is wrong with them when many of them stand in a video an yell "WE ARE NOT CRAZY" that's how you know they are xD.
