Impending Crypto Market Crash Exposed As Sensationalist Narrative
#1
Coins are crashing yet again. It is not at all good for the future of crypto. This report could do even more damage:

"Juniper Research published data this week that it claimed pointed to a cataclysmic collapse in the cryptocurrency market that could be just round the corner. The report, titled The Future of Cryptocurrency: Bitcoin & Altcoin Trends & Challenges 2018-2023, cited shrinking trading volume and asserted that  a death spiral has actually already begun.

I think that there are just too many coins doing things that are too similar so there will be a clearout. If the deadwood is all cleared at the same time then there will be a downwards movement in general, but once the rubbish is gone and there are fewer coins we will see the market rise again. I cannot think just how many coins there are but it will be hundreds and many are duplicates. Niche coins have a chance but many are no more than clones of BTC or ETH.

Personally a clear out will be a good thing as it makes it easier for less crypto minded folk to invest.

I agree with you Bob. There are too many coins and tokens. It's like the in the time of digging for gold. A lot of people tried and some was lucky to become rich. I see the same pattern here. Many coins are created out of greed only.

I wouldn't worry to much about the juniper report. It is a matter of fact, There are about 2600 coins and tokens. Many will disapear.
What is this thing that builds our dreams, yet slips away from us?

I'd say... 2019-2020 will be the moment of truth for many of them... Most will vanish. And then, general public will begin to consider using crypto more and more... Then, early adopters (like us) will benefit... maybe it is just wishful thinking though. Wink

Seems we all believe that crypto has a bright future with much less coins than now. There was around 800 coins when I created my app. The price of 1 BTC was just below $1200 and 1 ETH was $48! So yes we are still early adapters. Hugues already posted coins he believe will survive. Those coins and probably around 50 other coins will make it. That's a highly insecure prediction
