Rimbit wallet dead
#1
Hi,

I know this is an anti rimbit forum but just today i tried to open the wallet to send my coins to and exchange to dump them but it keeps crashing.
Anyone know how to get the wallet to open so I can be done with this coin for once and all?

Cheers

Dan

Hi Dan

If you have a backup of the wallet and you have the wallet software you could try install on another computer and restore the wallet. As far as I remember (I don't have it anymore) the wallet was storing the blockchain on C:\users\"Your username"\appdata\local\rimbit. You could try delete everything in the folder except for the wallet.dat file.

In the end it was also crashing on my Windows 10 machine, but worked fine on a Windows 8 machine. That is really long time ago.. On Coinmarketcap there has been a 24 h volume trade of $5 for rimbit. As you know it's a scam coin so you probably have to consider your money lost like most of us in here. Even if you manage to get the wallet running there are no buyers.

Anyway welcome here.

Thanks Carsten,

Deleting everything but the wallet.dat file worked. Thank you. Hopefully I can get rid of them.

Cheers

Welcome dankly!

Glad you got your wallet up and running - mine is on an old PC and it still fires up whenever the old machine is started.

Feel free to stick around, join in and learn (or indeed tell others) about coins you are into. I am not a crypto specialist but there are tips on this forum and people who have no agenda either so it is a safe place to ask questions and get sensible replies.

PS I am from Scotland (currently in the UK and currently in the EU but...)

Nice post Bob

The last part is "fun". It's like May and the rest of the parliament don't know what leg they should put first when we talk EU.  We have talked in here before about that the current EU system has to be replaced by something else. Right now I see panic from the Brits since they want the benefits but not the rest. I don't have a solution, but UK out of EU is a bad for everyone.
