HTC is Launching a Blockchain-Powered Phone
#1
On first glance I’m not sure what this is intended to be, until I read the bit where it referred to each phone being a node on the phone’s own native blockchain. I think it would be exciting if such a node was in fact a mining one, but I don’t expect this as phones typically lack the power required to do such things. Personally I’m not convinced this will do anything so very different to what existing smartphones can do with crypto services, but I’ll reserve final judgement until it comes out and and can be tested.

It's still interesting that HTC will go in that direction!

Imagine the data usage bill for mining 24/7!

It doesn't need to be high Bob. If it's made the right way you are only validating part of the blockchain. Other limitations could be only mine when on wifi.

If I am not mistaken it is not meant to mine, but for other blockchain related applications.

Okay Hugues. Mobile phones are not meant to mine.....but Electroneum allows it as a pr. stunt.

I thought the phone was just to be a phone... not a mine machine... maybe I’ve misunderstood the project... but still, I am not an expert in blockchain anyway...

Haha Cell it's many years ago a phone was just a phone. Today it's a computer. Even a quite powerful one. I have seen Jackie Chan with a phone so I know you have one Big Grin Big Grin
