From my house to Kennacraig is about 2 and a 1/2 hour drive, along some beautiful roads with many interesting places to stop at.  I do a lot of hill walking  between here and there and family days out often head along that road too.

Didn't know you live there. We are going by car this time because we have to export the cask.
Therefor we will need to take the ferry to get on the island. So probably we will be near your home address.
Do you intend to go to the blues festival?
What is this thing that builds our dreams, yet slips away from us?

I live near the route you will take, not the destination!
Can't get accommodation on Islay - usually fully booked! So if you are driving you will be going along the road that goes up the side of Loch Lomond! I live near the Naval Base which is on the Loch beside Loch Lomond. It is a great road to drive, so many great sights to see. Actually my wife is driving some of the route at this very moment and will do so again tomorrow!
