Read this if you own a Ledger hardware wallet like the Ledger Nano S or Ledger Blue.

Thanks Hugues....I was not sure you have read it, but the Ledger Blue is quite expensive and if it's flawed it's not worth buying.

I still like this wallet because it is an offline device. It is described how to interact safely with this device. Do you suggest something else? Something offline.

No it's probably one of the best wallets.

While a hardware wallet, if used correctly, is the best protection for cryptos right now, there are many reasons not to use one, and this vulnerability is the least of them.
  • Hardware wallets are missing 99% of coins and tokens
  • Hardware wallets can be misplaced or stolen.
  • Yes, it is possible to recover coins after the loss of a hardware wallet, but then, what is the purpose if it is not a vault, with only 1 key.
  • Most importantly, they are not the least bit necessary if no one else has your private keys, or if they are stored offline. See this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/commen...ute_force/

If someone was capable of predictably cracking private keys, they probably have better things to do than hack cryptocurrency wallets. I'm sure there would be some world governments willing to pay more than the entire crypto market cap for a technology like that.

Sure that there a proc and cons. It's the same with a paperwallet. It can be burnt etc. I'm using desktop wallets that are only online when needed.
