An analysis of Tether grants resulting in big spikes in Bitcoin prices soon after:

https://hackernoon.com/the-tether-effect-7310cbf5523f

Really worrying that they have started the racket again, and the latest surge in Bitcoin prices can be directly linked to the issuing of new Tethers on the 6th of February.

This is an address that contains over 1.6 Billion USD of Cryptocurrencies.

https://etherscan.io/address/0xf4b51b14b...f37686e2a8

Any guesses as to who it belongs to?

1000 USDT for you if you guessed the correct answer: Yes, it's cryptos bought with Tether.

That's right, not only have they been propping up the price of Bitcoin, it looks like they have some skin in the Ethereum game too. Dodgy

Wow... The crypto world will have to find a way to auto regulate/protect its own life. But, as long as there is money to steal... There will be scammers to take advantage of the weaknesses...

This isn't good for crypto and upcoming ICOs.

The same principle applies for many markets. Huge demand will certainly not lower prices. On the stock market attention will be drawn to a stock the suddenly have a massive trade compared to the daily average.

Here in Denmark and many western countries we recently had restriction on graphics cards. At least for the good ones that are able to mine crypto. We can only buy two cards. Shops get requests especially from Russia to buy 1000 and up to 100.000 graphics cards!!! Those shops have agreed that the average Dane should be able to buy whatever graphics card he like since he has been buying many other items from the stores. They are not interested in losing that business on behalf of selling a few popular graphics card models to Russian miners.
Cardano is the most promising 3 gen. crypto right now.

I have not heard of the graphic card restriction before - is it imposed by the government or is it the traders self imposing the rule?

How does it apply Carsten? How can we limit someone to buy more that 2 cards?

Here in Belgium there is an ancien law (still existing) that forbid bying alcohol in portions smaller than 2 litres. It is outdated and no juge will condamn you if you buy a 0.75L bottle.

Bob and Cell. It's a request from Nvidia to limit sale of cards. Since Russians has bought up the last couple of months games are very angry and hope for crypto to crash.  There is NO law telling the shops not to sell the amount of cards they want, but more shops simply don't allow you to buy more than two. I won't link to news about it since it's in Danish.

If you go to Nvidia's homepage and try to order their newest and very expensive Titan V then you can only order two (the price is $2300 for one :Big Grin

Here is a link about Nvidea.  https://wccftech.com/nvidia-instructs-re...ll-gamers/

Goodness me - this is affecting aliens too!

Apparently the demand for graphics cards from miners means that the hunt for aliens is not progressing as fast as it ought to. We could be under imminent threat of attack and no one knows because BTC needs a zillion graphics cards...
