The #komodo coin seems to be doing well. In 4 days there is a huge announcement  and most people speculate in that the price will go above $6 after the news.  https://twitter.com/komodonotary/status/...4127037440

I have invested yesterday and further today.

It was my son that found the coin and he even used some of his spare money to buy some coins together with me yesterday! Big Grin

Big Grin Crypto is really kind of gambling...

Did you know that in India some software developers are paid in Bitcoin?

Maybe Komodo, Monero or Ethereum will be the coin to replace Bitcoin. I still don't believe in a future with Bitcoin 5 years from now.

The problem for me is that word "maybe". I agree that BTC cannot have a future as it presently stands but to guess which one will replace it is so hard and it may not even exist just now! Perhaps the answer is to put $1000 into each one and the returns from the one that wins will far outweigh the losses on the ones that fail.

That strategy is close to what I have done Bob.

So if I had a $1000 to invest in crypto today, which coin or coins and how much in each?

if you invested today I would say Komodo $300, Monero $ 400, Ethereum $300.

Interesting! I thought BTC would feature but maybe that is more dependant on timescales too. I would love to be able to buy and just let these cryptos sit there for months or years even and get a nice surprise when they are worth $100k+

This article is a bit old, but explains some of the differences between the most popular cryptos. See also the post about Ark here on the page Bob.
