Defi? - Junior - 2020-02-12

Some of you have may heard about defi (decentralized finance) i think this is going to be more and more popular with time. Right now i don't really know in full details how it works, but it is interesting i think. I found a website where you can see what coins dominate in the defi field.
https://defipulse.com/

Does anyone in here know something more about defi?

RE: Defi? - Carsten - 2020-02-12

yes Junior, this is some great system.
A completely decentralized lending system ran by people like you and me. Not by banks.
Defi is the movement that leverages decentralized networks to transform old financial products into trustless and transparent protocols that run without intermediaries.
It can be all sorts of products like insurances, lending and borrowing, KYC and identity, DEX's, etc...
pooltogether is one of the products. Ask your dad. He is (or was) involved in it. Me too.

To learn a bit more about lending and borrowing you can read this:

If I find some more info I will let you know.

I read the link
https://defipulse.com/blog/zero-to-defi-cdai/

A lot of clauses there warning you about what ifs (you die, you forget a phrase etc) but it is good to see all possible bad things outlined as well.

In as far as my level of understanding goes, this looks interesting but complicated to me.

Thanks for input. I'm worried that if it's complicated for you then how would it be for others to read?
