  The Diplomatic Way
Posted by: Hugues - 2016-09-19, 06:32 PM - Forum: Rimbit Talk - Replies (26)

Hi guys,
We should not forget why we are here. We are here because of Rimbit which could be a wonderful coin.
We are here because we try to save it.
This is what we should be focussing on.

CH might be going slightly mad. He might be a scammer, a liar etc....
Don't forget he is not stupid. Technically I think we need people like him.
We must find a way to make him do a U-turn, without him to suffer to much of loss of face.
If we keep going on with our allegations he will never come to senses again.
We have to do it the diplomatic way. Listen to the following story that happened to a friend (business man) of mine many years ago.

This friend was a jewelry shop owner.
He had several suppliers.
One day he orders a large quantity of gold jewelry from one of his usual suppliers. He paid in advance as usual.
A few days later the package was delivered, but al was fake. No real gold.
It was than my friend came to me because there was a lot of money involved. He was desperate and didn't know what to do.
I told him not to go to the police directly or to accuse him of anything. I told him to contact the supplier and ask politely if the order wasn't a  mistake. To ask him if he didn't switch an order from another customer.

And guess what. He got a complete refund of his paid order.

Chances where good if the supplier was accused and attacked directly by my friend, he would have pannicked or would be that offended that he wouldn't admit his scam.
This is the diplomatic way to get things done.

A few weeks later my friend heard from several collegue jewelry shop owners they have been scammed the same way. Wit a little difference. They never got a refund and lost the money. The supplier was arrested but the money was gone.

So guys...
What do you think?
Shouldn't we stop with allegations, accusations and so on?
It is al true what has been said about CH, but let's stop this for now.
We should be focussing about the future. Let's think about the foundation of some kind of Round Table.

From the moment enough people have read this thread, it must be removed.
So of I forget to do I count on one of the other moderators to do it my place.

How much money did Mark make
Posted by: BobBobert - 2016-09-19, 11:28 AM - Forum: General discussion - Replies (38)

One of the areas I was most interested in towards the end was just how much money Mark Karlsson /  Marcelo Karlsson / CyberHippie made from Rimbit.

So I think a thread dedicated to this subject is a good idea.  Now I do not want CH to be living on bread and water and I think he is entitled to make money from his idea and his work too.  So the question is just how much did he make and where did he spend it?

We know that IGG sales are $173,000.
Patreon sales were small
Rimbit-UK sales are unknown
Private Sales - this is an interesting one.

We know that he has made a number of private sales - I have subtly brought this into the conversation a few times over the last year.  He has made some huge sales that have not gone through IGG.  He has also spoken of a group he chats with of major investors who do not frequent the boards.

I think for ease of figures we could suggest that Rimbit has raised for CH around the $250,000.  Of course if he was lying about how many major investors there are, then it could be closer to $200,000.  Would Mark lie about this - well yes he would, he is a compulsive liar and saying that there are lots of major investors bigs Rimbit and him up.

Mark has stated that the monthly running expenses are $2500.  This includes his salary of $500 a week.  IGG campaign finished May 2014, approximately 28 months ago.  28 months at 2500 is $70,000.

There are of course other expenses - Mark seems to have been in charge of a lot of failed projects as Rimbit chief - indeed I can only think of the Rimbit Pi as being successful. There have been exchanges, apps, and other stuff that has failed or allegedly failed because other than the exchange al we have is Mark's word, and we know that it is dodgy.  Certainly there has been little work on the wallet, it still falls over 3 or 4 times when first syncing - a major embarrassment to my mind.  Remember mark also guilted us in to contributing 3 BTC for Bittrex - he is good at the job of relieving us of our cash!

So total raised 200k to 250k
Running costs 70k

Unaccounted for 130k to 180k (from which we deduct failed projects, Rimbit Pi, etc)

That is a lot of money not properly accounted for.  I believe Mark Karlsson / Marcelo Karlsson is a thief who has misappropriated Rimbits cash for his own purposes.

  The Burning Question
Posted by: BobBobert - 2016-09-19, 10:47 AM - Forum: Rimbit Talk - Replies (11)

I am not at all keen on the burn.  I am not convinced by the case made for it you guys when on the old forum.

I agree that in time it will be a must but I do not think we are close to the right time yet.

The problem is that we are not traders.   I used to buy up cheap Rimbit on the exchanges but I am not keen on the constant buying and selling that is needed to give us the visibility required to become the default currency.  That is just not me and I think I am right in saying that it is not really the style of anyone on Rimbit just now.

This is why I was keen on involving the dead/struggling coins as they have a user base that is very crypto aware, and like to play the exchanges and will create a lot of noise about our coin.  And until we get these sorts of people on board (by whatever means) then we will find it hard to generate enough interest in Rimbit to make a go of it.

I also believe that the cold wallet estimate of 251m is well short and that there may be up to 30m unaccounted for.

I guess it is a moot point until CH hands over the rimbits.

[url=https://www.facebook.com/liviano.liviano.9?fref=ufi&rc=p]Nathan Liriano To Lee, so you agree that Marcelo Karlsson (if that's he real name) was walking out with all the money of the community and also keeping 250 million coins? leaving the community with all responsibility and zero finance support from him. Marcelo starter the project and sold to all a lie, he practically scam ALL OF US. The community build Rimbit. we put all the resource together and paid for everything while Marcelos was only keeping all the money and used as he please. 2 plus years later the coin was going nowhere and when we ask control of the project to get people who can really help to get Rimbit off the ground, all he want to give control was the forum nothing more. If Marcelo is the driving force behind Rimbit he does not needs anyone of us Lets him continue running Rimbit and scamming more people to support all his lies."
